OUR HISTORY

A group of eighteen people from across the northwest suburbs of Chicago joined together to form a new church in 1988 named Harvest Bible Chapel. These people had a vision for proclaiming the authority of the Word of God without apology, lifting high the name of Jesus through worship, believing firmly in the power of prayer, and sharing the good news of Jesus with boldness. In December, 2014, the leadership of the Harvest Bible Chicago determined that God was leading them to plant the first Harvest Bible Chapel in Maryland. Dan and Ann Hammer moved from the training center in Chicago to undertake the mission of planting an autonomous church named Harvest Bible Chapel Annapolis to reach the greater Baltimore-Annapolis-DC area with the same God-glorifying, Bible-preaching, Christ-exalting, and disciple-making passion that is shared by the other 160+ church plants around the world planted out of Harvest Chicago. Harvest Annapolis held its first public worship service on September 13, 2015, with over 175 people in attendance, and God has been doing great things ever since. The story of Harvest Annapolis is the story of God At Work. God is continually transforming lives and multiplying disciples one person, and one story, at a time for His glory. God's best is yet to come as Jesus builds His church in Maryland and around the world as Harvest Annapolis partners with the Great Commission Collective network of like minded churches to plant, strengthen and multiply disciple making churches in Maryland, the U.S., and all over the world for the glory of God! “This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23).
