Mark 15:21-41
Big idea: Only through Jesus dying in my place can I experience salvation by God’s grace
3 Life giving realities of Jesus’s death:
1) Because Jesus died in the darkness, we can live in the light (v. 33-39)
2) Because Jesus was fully forsaken, we can be forever family (v. 34)
3) Because Jesus suffered purposely, we can be saved eternally (v. 21-44)
How I suffer purposely like Jesus:
a. I Forgive Fully: “Father, forgive them, because they don’t know what they are doing.” - Luke 23:3
b. I Care For & Love Others Deeply: “Woman, behold your son!” - John 19:26-27
c. I Persevere Until The Mission Is Complete: “It is finished!” - Mark 15:37
d. I Sacrifice Willingly: “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” - Mark 15:34
e. I Trust God Completely: “Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” - Luke 23:46
