The Power Of A Praying Church

Acts 12:1-17

Big Idea: The unfailing faithfulness of our God fuels our fervent prayers to God

A Praying Church:
1) Trusts In God’s Sovereignty (v. 1-5)

2) Rests In God’s Promises (v. 6-12)

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
- Psalm 34:4

Peace Producing Promises Of God:
1) God is always with me (Joshua 1:9)
2) God is fighting for me (Exodus 14:14)
3) God always comforts me (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)
4) God always strengthens me (Isaiah 41:10)

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Isaiah 41:10

5) God always delivers me (Psalm 34:15-19)

“The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears toward their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut of the memory of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
- Psalm 34:15-19

3) Seeks God With Confidence (v. 5-17)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy & find grace to help in time of need.”
- Hebrews 4:16
