People Of The Word Not The World

John 17:11-14

“Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.”
– John 16:20-22

Big Idea: Joy Comes Through Living As A Person Of The Word Not The World

People Of God’s Word:
1) Pursue Unity As They Embrace The Truth About God (v. 11-14)

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
- Galatians 2:20

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. y this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35

“Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
- John 8:31-32

2) Salvation Has Been Made Possible For Me (v. 6-10)

3) Live Joyfully As They Anchor In The Truth From God (v. 12-14)

2) Trust God’s Truth (John 17:12)

3) Obey God’s Truth (John 15:10-11)

“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
- John 15:10-11
