Romans 7:1-6
Big Idea: In Christ We Are Dead To The Law And Wed To Christ
1) The Principle: Only death releases us from the Mosaic Law (v. 1)
2) The Picture: Death frees us to remarry (v. 2-3)
3) The Purpose: Through faith in Christ we are released from the Mosaic Law and intimately united with Christ (v. 4)
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”

4) The Practical: Through our union with Christ we are empowered to bear fruit for Christ (v. 4b-6)
