Easter Sunday - Remember The Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

Big Idea: The Gospel must be of first importance to us and provides eternal life and a new way of life for us.

Gospel Reminders:

1) The Gospel is our top priority (v. 1-4)

“And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”
–1 Corinthians 2:1-5

What Is the Gospel?
1) Jesus Christ’s physical death for our sins (v. 3)
2) Jesus Christ’s literal burial (v. 4)

“And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.”
- Isaiah 53:9

3) Jesus Christ’s victorious supernatural resurrection (v. 4)

2) The Gospel has been verified throughout history (v. 3-8)

Verifications of the resurrection:
1) The fulfillment of Old Testament promises and prophecy (v. 3-4)
2) Extensive eyewitness testimony (v. 5-8)

3) The Gospel changes everything for you and me (v. 9-11)
