Big Idea: My Significance Is Anchored In Jesus’ Supremacy And Sufficiency
My Significance Is Found In Christ Because:
1) Nothing else compares to Jesus (v. 4-8)
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”

“For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”

Counterfeit Sources Of My Ultimate Significance (v. 5-6):
1) My religious rituals and traditions
2) My family
3) My earthly positions
4) My good works
5) My passions
2) No one else saves & satisfies but Jesus (v. 7-11)
The Treasure Of Jesus Christ (v. 9-11):
1) My Justification: I am made righteous by Jesus Christ (v. 9)
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

2) My Sanctification: I am continually growing to become more like Jesus Christ (v. 10)
3) My Glorification: I am made eternally perfect like Jesus Christ (v. 11)
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things act are unseen are eternal.”
